Dr. Kinga Heerstraßen is a bilingual attorney at law and works in an advisory and forensic capacity in the field of German-Polish legal relations. She advises and represents private individuals as well as German and Polish companies in all legal matters.

A main focus of Dr. Heerstraßen‘s activities is the law of succession. This includes questions of property succession and its implementation in wills, contracts of inheritance, including anticipated succession. She advises and represents clients, both in and out of court, in the settlement of estates and assertion of inheritance claims. In particular, Dr. Heerstraßen advises on inheritance law mandates with cross-border connections to Poland. Against the background of inheritance law, matters of descent, in particular those with cross-border implications, form another important field of activity of Dr. Heerstraßen.

    Dr. Kinga Heerstraßen was born and raised in Kraków, Poland, where she also passed her A-levels. In 1991, she moved to Germany where she first finished her training as legal assistant and then worked for a big international law firm. She studied law at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (1998 to 2002). After the First Examination of State (2003) she worked in an internship at a law firm in Coral Gables, Florida, USA. In line with the legal traineeship at the regional court of Düsseldorf she worked at TIGGES Rechtsanwälte in her elective practical period, where she has been working as a lawyer since her Second Examination of State in October 2007.

    Dr. Heerstraßen earned her PhD on the subject "Gewährleistung im deutschen und polnischen Kaufrecht" (Warranty in the German and Polish law of sales).

    Furthermore, Dr. Heerstraßen is a certified translator for the languages German and Polish accredited by the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf.
